Foliar feeding has been tested in universities since the 1940’s and proven effective as a supplement to ground fertility programs. Foliar fertilization is an effective method of circumventing the soil enforced, pH dependent root absorption of nutrients. Foliar feeding is extremely efficient in supplying nitrogen and potassium compared to soil applied N&K. Up to 95% of the nitrogen and potassium feed in a foliar manner is available to the plant. In ground applications at least 50% of the nitrogen is lost and up to 80% of the potassium becomes "fixed" and unavailable to the plant.
